An absolute landmark for the doom genre, and the beginning of Candlemass's climb to the top of the doom pile, Epicus Doomicus Metallicus is exactly what it professes to be: fuckin' epic doom metal. Wonderful, dark and gloomy atmosphere pervades this release, mixed with absolutely skull-crushing riffs that would make Iommi proud. If you are a metal fan, regardless of genre, you should already have the first couple Candlemass albums; but if you don't, here's your chance for salvation. Highly recommended. Black Dragon. 1.
