Forteresse-Les Hivers de Notre Époque (2008)

Most recent album from Canada's Forteresse. This is intensely atmospheric, epic black metal, that I cannot recommend enough. Easily one of the best bands to come out of the Canadian scene in recent times, Forteresse plays a mixture of beautifully-crafted, epic guitar riffs, an underlying bit of synth (which adds greatly to the vast, all-encompassing atmosphere of this release, and a heavy dose of Québécois nationalism. Highly recommended! Sepulchral Productions.
